About me

My name is Stefan Carl-McGrath, and I have been working with clients in various settings, including NHS Services, since 2019. After initial training in Person Centred Counselling, I switched to a four year course in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy, which I graduated with a Diploma. Transactional Analysis, sometimes shortened to TA, is one of the major humanistic approaches, and it is widely recognized and used across the globe.

I have an academic background in computer science, and a varied career in creative and technical industries such as theatre, film production and live events.

However, human interaction, leading teams and developing individuals have always been the part of my work, for which I've had the most passion. For this reason, I began perusing a career change in 2015.

I am a registered member of the following professional bodies and I adhere to their ethical frameworks:

  • BACP - British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

  • UKATA - UK Association for Transactional Analysis

All my work is under ongoing supervision by qualified and accredited supervisors.

I am fully insured and registered with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

I have lived in Australia, Germany and Great Britain for many years. I am fluent in German and English.

My pronouns are he/him/his.

If you are interested in counselling or psychotherapy, please get in touch. I will get back to you as soon as possible. If you prefer text or email over a voice call, please just let me know.
